ABOUT US...

The story begins in 1994 when Guido ANDRETTA and Rosalba VITANZA decide to buy their first vineyard. Rosalba took full responsibility of the estate and started to immerse herself into winemaking. The first wine was a Brunello 1995, which was immediately welcomed by critics receiving 93 points from Wine Spectator. The critical response sparked demand for the wine in the US as the wine sold out quickly.

Acclaim for their wines continued to grow as they attracted the attention of other in the wine press; Gambero Rosso have awarded their Brunello 3 glassed on a number of occasions, the wine spectator consistently awarded the wine in the 90’s and Decanter Magazine rated their 1997 Brunello Riserva the best Italy wine over 10 GBP.

In response to the success of Rosalba’s wine making and the growing demand for their wine the estate expanded its holdings by purchasing In 1998 51 hectares of land encompassing 26 of vineyards.  The family also grew; in 1999 their daughter, Emma Sophia Andretta (ESA) was born.

Despite the awards from wine critics Guido Andretta was frustrated by the inefficiency involved with getting his wines into the US market.  He felt there was an opportunity for a person who was familiar with the demands and idiosyncrasies of Italian winery owns and retailers desire for wine of a high quality that can be very profitable as well
